Citizen Vote

Citizens only

The next vote opens here once the Assembly puts an idea to the vote.

Ideas are raised at the National Assembly; Citizens then vote on them here on teknoparrot.com. Only Citizens hold a ballot, and it weighs the license keys their plan pays for.

Your ballot would weigh

  • Solo 1
  • Duo 2
  • Squad 5
  • Crew 15
  • Enterprise 30

Ballots are secret: results show each option's votes, never who voted or how many. A ballot counts the license keys of the voter's paid memberships, so this is not one person, one vote. How voting works

The National Assembly

Every week the team holds the National Assembly live. Anyone can watch it on YouTube; Citizens take part from the Stage on the Citizens' Discord, where ideas are pitched by voice. Citizens then vote on them here on teknoparrot.com.

Citizens take part from the Stage channel of the Citizens' Discord: ask for a speaking slot and pitch your idea by voice. Citizen Votes on the ideas are held here on the site.

Become a Citizen

Anyone can watch on YouTube. Ideas are raised only by voice, from the Stage: never in the stream's chat or in writing. The public Discord is open to everyone

How voting works

The rules are the same for everyone, and they are shown here before every vote.

  1. One ballot per account

Each account has one ballot per vote, and its whole weight goes to one option.

  2. Weight = license keys

A ballot weighs the number of license keys your membership pays for. Two paid memberships add up; gifted keys don't give the recipient a vote.

  3. Weight locks on your first ballot

You can change your option until the vote closes. The weight stays as it was when you first voted, even if your tier changes.

  4. Voting happens here

Ideas are raised at the National Assembly; Citizens then vote on them here on teknoparrot.com. Each vote opens and closes at the times shown with it, on the server's clock in UTC; times are shown in your local time.

  5. Secret ballot

Ballots are secret: no public page shows who voted, how they voted or how many Citizens took part. Results show each option's votes, where a ballot counts the license keys of the voter's paid memberships: 1 for Solo, up to 30 for Enterprise, and two memberships add up. While a vote is open, only Citizens who have voted see the results; once it closes, everyone does.

A result recorded here from a vote held elsewhere, such as the Citizens' vote on Discord before the site's Citizen Vote existed, followed that vote's own rules and shows its winner only.

  6. Clearly scoped

Every vote says what is being decided and what isn't. A win sets a community priority, not a delivery date; the team keeps the call on feasibility.

  7. Tie rule

The option with the most votes wins. If options tie on votes, the team decides between them and says so.

  8. No overclaiming

One account is not always one person, and no online vote is abuse-proof. Citizens steer the community builds; they don't run the company.
